1. PREPARE a list of your interests.
2. TAKE a realistic look at your strengths and weaknesses.
3. MAKE a list of your career goals and values.
4. LIST your aptitudes and skills(what you are good at).
5. TAKE a note of all jobs that interest you(Read the employment section of the newspaper from A-Z).
6. RESEARCH careers based on the above.
7. TALK to people already in careers that interest you. Spend time with people whose activities interest you.
8. VOLUNTEER or work in a job that interests you.
9. GATHER as much information as possible on relevant courses- institutions , the duration and the costs involved.
10. FINALLY consider issues that can affect your plans, such as how will you manage your family or relationship commitments.
